Education expenditures in the 2008-09 Chatham County proposed budget

The Chatham County manager’s proposed budget includes a 5.5-cent property tax rate increase to 67.2 cents per $100 of assessed property value to pay for growth. The proposed tax increase, a 9 percent jump in the tax rate, would provide 1.2 cents for school needs.
